At CDC (Children Development Center) school in Mae Sot, Tak district, the university students of UWCSEA South East Asia (Initiative for peace) in Singapore had visited and discussed with the post high school graduate students at 9am on January 18, 2014. Also, the students of UWCSEA had visited and discussed with 40 students from East-Timor in 2013. This was the first time these students had chosen to meet with Burmese migrant students from Mae Sot and other students in the refugee’s camps in Thailand.
As for the next 5 days visit starting from June 22 to 27, the Singapore students will meet with selected high school students and post high school graduate students from various schools in Mae Sot area and trained them the communication and leadership skills to overcome the challenges and to promote the development of the environment.
A teacher and a student from UWCSEA, who are leading the upcoming program, came to Mae Sot and explained about UWCSEA, its programs and the application form for the attendees in details.
The current event was attended by the students from the schools like TPC, PAYAP, CDC, BHSOH, New Blood and SAW in total of 30 students.
